Edible City is a documentary film that will explore the idea of food sovereignty through a comprehensive view of the Bay Area urban farming community. By examining the successes and obstacles faced by local models, from personal backyard gardens to community-supported agriculture to rehabilitative and vocational gardening programs, we will see the diverse motives, goals, and personalities of the people involved. And, as we reveal connections between these grassroots organizations and larger issues of food justice, eco-equity, and sustainability, we hope to shed light on our troubled food system and suggest possible solutions both institutional and individual.
